Wynonna Earp Wiki

"I have literally been to Hell and back. I lost my best friend, I never even known my own daughter. All that loss and the fear of losing so much more has been a yoke on my neck. But love... it's always lightening the load. And I'm not ready to lose my greatest love of all. The Earp sisters, both of them, of course."
―  Doc Hollidaysrc

John Henry "Doc" Holliday (born August 14, 1851) is the former best friend of the late Wyatt Earp, and a former member of the government agency Black Badge Division. Doc is the son of the late Alice Holliday and the late Henry Holliday, the father of Alice Michelle, and the current boyfriend of Wynonna Earp.

Doc Holliday is an infamous gunslinger and former dentist from the old West, having struck fame due to friendship with Wyatt Earp and their participation in the O.K. Corral shootout. After catching tuberculosis in the 1800s, Doc was turned into an unaging immortal being by an iron witch, only to be betrayed by her and trapped in a well for 130 years. Upon his freedom, Doc struck a friendship and later romance with Wyatt's great-great-great Granddaughter Wynonna Earp, becoming a true companion and friend to Wynonna and her sister Waverly.

Biography[]

Early life[]

John Henry Holliday was born on August 14, 1851 to Henry Burroughs Holiday and Alice Holliday. When Doc was fourteen, his mother became bedridden, as she was dying from tuberculosis. As not to spread the disease, Doc was told he was unable to see her. However, as he was missing her, he crawled into a space under her room, and night after night, he would listen to her cry, beg and pray for her recovery. John Henry's insistence on seeing his mother, even in secret, would lead to him developing the illness in his adult life.[1] His mother, unfortunately, passed away not long later and from that point onward, he could never again stand tight spaces.

In his adult years, Doc became a dentist and gunslinger but didn't practice much in gunslinging. He witnessed a man put a gun to Wyatt Earp's back and saved Wyatt by shooing the executioner. Wyatt knew then that he was indebted to Holliday and was bound to him forever. They soon befriended each other and they traveled across the lands together in search of outlaws.

Perhaps one of his most famous endeavors came during a shootout at the O.K. Corral in Tombstone where he sided with Wyatt Earp and others against the Clanton family and their supporters. Little is mentioned about what happened during the shootout, except that the Clanton's lost and Doc, alongside Wyatt, were made famous by the event. According to Doc, when the bullets started flying Wyatt fired off some shots then ran away. This forced Doc to clean up the mess by killing the remaining Clanton's and their supporters. He knew that the town would be better off with the Clanton's, whom he donned drunken assholes.

In an interview Wyatt did later in life as an old man, he admitted to being reluctant to talk about it in the past. He opened up about it then, saying that he knew there would never be peace in Tombstone or anywhere else with those vermin Clanton's around. He was glad when Doc Holliday shot first. This fact is disputed by Doc, who tells Wyatt's descendant Wynonna that he did not shoot first. Wyatt praised Doc for being the most talented loose cannon he ever did see. In the same interview, he claimed that at the end of their time together, he just rolled Doc off whatever woman he was enjoying and pointed him in the direction of someone who needed to be killed.

This statement is untrue, as, in all actuality, Doc caught tuberculosis and spiraled downward as he was dying. Wyatt was forced to leave Doc in order to hunt more demons. Doc thought he was going to die even though he desperately wanted to live, and was afraid of his fate. He was visited by the Stone Witch, Constance Clootie, who made a deal with him that made him ageless. When Wyatt returned for Doc's body he found Doc alive and was appalled by the man making a deal and disgraced him. Afterward, Clootie trapped Doc down a well as Doc had a ring on his tubercular fingers that Constance put her magic in. She wanted it but couldn't take it off Doc's finger herself as it had to be volunteered. She enlists the help of Robert Svane to try and entice Doc to give it up. Doc refused and Robert left Doc in the well and didn't bother saving him. Doc was stranded there for 130 years.

History[]

Season 1[]

In Purgatory, this is the first time that Doc is seen is just his hand as he climbs out of the well he was in after Wynonna left the rope in the well after retrieving Peacemaker. The next time that we see him is when he starts chatting up with Wynonna at Shorty's.

In Keep the Home Fires Burning, Doc is first seen in at Revenant base-camp catching the attention of Bobo Del Rey.

Later, he continues his visits to Shorty's and runs into Waverly and learns that she is also an Earp.

With the information, Doc has acquired he takes on the task from Bobo to get Peacemaker from Wynonna. So, Doc and Levi begin their journey by travel to see Jim Miller aka Killer Miller, or Shadow Assassin and have him kill Wynonna. But when setting the target he, unfortunately, threw a notebook that belonged to Waverly Earp not Wynonna.

After realizing what he had done he travels to the Homestead and offers to fix the mailbox which he says was "defiled by hooligans". This sets that pathway to him becoming not quite an enemy or friend of the Earps.

Once he fixed the mailbox he goes to see Bobo and is given one more test of loyalty. Doc has to drag Levi one the Ghost River Triangle Line.

In Leavin' on Your Mind, he and Wynonna converse a little while he rejects her advances, then leaves the establishment. At the trailer park, Bethany pays him a visit, telling him that Bobo has another job for him, but Doc is less inclined to do another as he hasn't been compensated yet for the last one. Doc, however, is more inclined to offer his services to Bethany and they begin to have sex. Bobo later visits Doc and offers information on the Stone Witch if Doc puts himself in the Earps' good graces, who wants to think about it.

Later, he goes to the Earp homestead and tells Wynonna that he wants to dispel any misunderstandings, introducing himself for who he really is.

In The Blade, while Wynonna doesn't believe him, they decide to go to a dirt patch where he demonstrates his sharp-shooting skills. He reveals to her that he made a deal to achieve eternal life after he and Wyatt had a falling out. He also gives Wynonna a tip that there a bunch of revenants hanging at the trailer park.

At Shorty's, he comes upon a man named Jay Novak and comes upon his body when he goes into the bathroom. He catches a glimpse of the revenant barber in the mirror and pulls a knife in self defense. He is then taken into custody by Dolls after Waverly saw him with the knife in his hand and thought he killed Jay. While Dolls interrogates him, Doc has nothing to divulge with him and is put into a cell. Awhile later, he is visited by Waverly who tells him that she'll offer him freedom in exchange for the name of the revenant responsible for the murders, to which he reveals it's August Hamilton. He later joins the group in trying to summon August so Wynonna can finish him off, but the plan doesn't go too well as Doc has to taser Dolls to prevent him from going berserk. He, Waverly and Wynonna head to to Big Deep Lake to confront August, who threatens Wynonna. Doc tries to convince him to let Wynonna go as he was the one who killed August in the first place, but the revenant mentions that Doc feels no remorse and after Wynonna confesses to Waverly, Doc witnesses Wynonna kill August. Before she drops him off where they had earlier did his sharp shooting demonstration, he tells her that he just has memories with regret and burns a deputy badge as he thinks of his last meeting with Wyatt.

In Diggin' Up Bones, he is smoking a cigarette near on a street corner when he first sees Wynonna, but wonders why she's taking off in such a hurry and leaves with Waverly. After Waverly gets in front of Wynonna's truck, Doc recognizes the man that had held Wynonna at gunpoint, an old friend of his named Fish. Doc, Wynonna and Fish converse at Shorty's until she asks Doc to get something to drink while she talks to Fish. When Wynonna gets done talking to Fish and striking a deal with him, Doc asks her what she's going to do and she mentions she's going to talk to a guy named Vinnie, whom Doc also knows.

After Wynonna finishes talking and killing Vinnie, Doc asks if she's okay and they make a plan on getting the photo of the Seven from the police station. While the building evacuates, Doc goes into the room where Dolls has the pictures of the revenants and he encounters Miss Stone, who is revealed to be the Stone Witch, Constance Clootie, who gave him immortality. She magically freezes him in place and taunts him about being stuck in a well until she disappears. They grab boxes of photos and after Fish asks for Wynonna to take him to Levi, Wynonna tells Doc she knew he was the one who took him over the line, to which Doc says Levi was also involved with Jim Miller going after them. They go to the boundary and sees Levi's foot, but nothing else. The three go into the woods to search and happen upon a gnarled looking Levi, and Doc watches with sadness as Wynonna shoots them both with Peacemaker. Doc and Wynonna then argue about her killing the two, while also mentioning he ran into Constance. They two then make out with each other in the woods after Doc tells her she's exactly like him.

In Constant Cravings, he confronts Bobo about Constance's sudden disappearance. He begins to threaten Bobo with his gun, but Bobo's men start to surround him. The two threaten each other, but eventually back off the other until Doc leaves. He later pays Wynonna a visit, using their intimate relationship so he could ask a favor to meet with Dolls. The two come to an agreement of sorts, with Doc giving Dolls intel on Bobo and Dolls will tell him about Constance. He notices that Dolls has sweaty palms and Dolls gives him a day to give him what he information he needs.

He disguises himself as a worker and breaks the lock on the shed, going inside and sees the skeletons of Constance's sons. He is happened upon by Bethany, who tells him Bobo has been digging up the bones for somebody and asks for a lift, but Doc refuses her. Much later, he waits for Dolls and tells him he couldn't get close enough, but also asks if Dolls is alright. He is told by Dolls the deal is off and is called the "enemy", so Doc heads for the homestead to see Wynonna. He asks him if she's getting what she wanted and asks if she wants some company, but she turns him down, saying she's better traveling solo...for now and leaves him in the barn.

In Walking After Midnight, he is attacked and threatened by John until Wynonna shows up to put the revenant down. He tells her go to hell after she asks for help in finding out the last of the Seven as revenants are coming after him due to his association with her. He later goes to homestead and talks to Waverly, who shows him the skull of Constance's son, and notices that it may not be entirely human. He later leaves when Waverly tells him that she has company and a party to host. He shows up later and plays poker with the girls until they hear a noise coming from the barn. He finds Mattie Perley who is severely injured and she explains to him about the skull as Constance is coming to retrieve it, while also imploring him to take Waverly away. After Mattie dies, he tells Waverly it was nothing and keeps an eye out on the porch until the clock strikes, leaving the porch as it does. He later comes inside as the house is being attacked by the witch and her zombies, asking Waverly about the skull as she refuses to tell him. He is told by Chrissy that Waverly went outside with the skull and he shoots Constance in the shoulder as he tells Wynonna that the witch is his. He is told off by Waverly and that while she doesn't hate him, she knows all he does is lie. He then goes to the place where Constance is standing and sees blood on the snow. He looks at his shoulder and sees that he was injured as well when he shot Constance in the shoulder. He then hears eerie, old music and sees that Wynonna or Nicole is in the squad car, and yells Wynonna's name as it continues down the road.

In Two-Faced Jack, as he looks around the surrounding area for the two, he finds a card with a spade on it and Doc realizes with horror who it is. He arrives at the police station and yells for Dolls until Nedley asks him to stop, asking what's wrong. He tells the officers and Dolls about the disappearances of Wynonna and Nicole, and they make a plan to find them. He, Dolls and Waverly talk about the kidnapping and Doc mentions that the card that was left is akin to someone that he and Wyatt went after before he got real sick. He mentions that the killer called himself Jack of Knives and would surround the women he killed with their organs. After finding out Nicole is okay, they converse with her at a hospital and while she gives them as much information as she can remember, and Doc comforts Waverly about her sister. They soon realize that what she was talking about involved tunnels, but they were sealed off years ago. Doc mentions he knew a man named Jim Byers that was involved with alcohol and is a revenant under Bobo's command. He and Dolls go to a fight club that Jim runs and brokers a deal with him. As Doc warms up, Jim gives him a report that Dolls did on him and sees that experimenting on him would happen, leaving Doc angered. The two pummel each other and Doc makes mention of the report, hitting Dolls, who let's everyone think he's dead. Doc is given the information about Jack and is scared by Dolls, who reveals he was trained to control his pulse. They head to the abattoir and he shoots Jack on the side of the head until the revenant cuts his gun apart. The two fight until Wynonna stabs Jack with Constance's athame. As she goes to kill him, Doc and Dolls begin arguing and after they are done, they see Wynonna sitting on the floor, upset about what she learned and the ordeal.

In Bury Me With My Guns On, he saves Wynonna from Pete, remarking she's nobody's but her own and comforts her in the bathroom as she tells him that she feels like she has a coil inside. Back at the homestead, he talks to Wynonna, who relays to him about Dolls and how she wants to kill, with or without a badge. While fails to ease her, he decides to kiss her and and they begin to makeout until he feels some pain where his wound is. He later leaves and goes to confront Constance until they are interrupted by Bobo and his revenants. A standoff soon begins until Bobo relents and gives Constance to the gunslinger, thereby keeping his promise. He and Wynonna takes the witch to the Earp barn and he ties her hands with Gallows Silk, listening as she tells Wynonna more about the curse. The two decide to take her to an area with plenty of salt and bury her all the up to her head.

In She Wouldn't Be Gone, he pulled over by Nicole, who is accompanied by Waverly. Nicole hands him a ticket and he is confronted by Waverly about him leaving town. He tells her that he has everything he needed to do, but Waverly tries to tell him Wynonna needs him, but he's convinced that she has Dolls. She tells him to try, but he bids her goodbye and drives off.

In Landslide, he is sitting in his car as he come upon by a good Samaritan named Juan Carlo. He points his gun at him until Juan Carlo tells him otherwise about his manners. Doc tells him in his anger he threw his keys past the marker and as he walks, Doc reveals he had his keys on him the whole time. The two look at the car and he asks Doc to hand him a 5H, and he goes to find one, he sees that his old deputy badge is in the toolbox. He goes into Juan Carlo's truck and his gun is taken away from him as he angrily asks why his badge was in the toolbox. Juan Carlo tells he keeps asking all the wrong questions, while he tells him he can either go away into the darkness once again or he can stay by Wynonna's side as the winter solstice is drawing near. As he goes down the road, his car acts up again and he arrives back in town once again. As he gets out to check the car again, he is knocked out by an unknown person and dragged away.

In House of Memories, it's revealed that he had been knocked out and taken by Big Bubba, who is told to keep the gunslinger down until everyone is gone. He teaches Bubba how to throw as the revenant is a fan of his skills and congratulates him, while also shocked on how close the throw was. He also watches in horror as the revenant subjects a man in a glass box to a poison, which causes the man to repeatedly stab himself. As Bubba looks away and watches Abel exit the basement, Doc throws the knife through the revenant's head and mouth, he takes the knife and his hat back. He goes to the party Bobo is hosting at the Wainwright Hotel and sees Wynonna and Dolls kiss, interrupting them as well. He takes a glass of champagne until he takes a whiff of the peach smell, realizing the poison is in the champagne. He then tries to get the other guests from drinking it until Bobo shows himself, revealing he had poisoned the champagne to the guests. As Bobo gives the ultimatum to bring him Wynonna, dead or alive, in order to receive the antidote, Doc and Dolls stand by Wynonna as guests encircle them.

In I Walk the Line, he and Dolls push Wynonna out a window as they go against the crazed townspeople. The two later head to the sheriff's office to gain some weapons and Doc inquires about the serum Dolls takes. While he gets a vague answer about it, Nicole shows up and the gunslinger reveals to her about the true supernatural goings on around the town, while also revealing who he truly is as well. He and Dolls go to Shorty's to take on the revenants holed up there and gain the antidote. He carries an injured Dolls out and injects the serum into his neck, looking in shock at his eyes. He later helps him with the revenants again and go downstairs to get the antidote. He and Wynonna later go to the sheriff's office again to gain some weapons and they talk about Willa. The two go to the gate and Doc shoots at Bobo, but they are evaded by his telekinetic abilities. After the grenade explodes, he tells Wynonna to go after Willa instead and walks up to Bobo, who tells him to take out the old one. After Dolls shoots Willa in the stomach, Doc remarks about the clean shot, but Dolls says it wasn't one. After Willa is mercy killed, Bobo and Dolls are taken by Black Badge, with Bobo being shot in the head out of mercy by Wynonna, he talks with her about Willa and getting Dolls back from the Black Badge.

Season 4[]

In On the Road Again, Doc passes through the portal to the Garden of Eden to retrieve Waverly and bring her back to Purgatory. He crosses through a doorway with a portal billowing behind it. He is confused that this is Eden as it is merely a desert and not what he pictured. He can't pass through the door to return and walks aimlessly through the area looking for Waverly. He hears Waverly screaming for him as she is chained to a giant statue. The chain is getting tighter and she's having trouble breathing. She begs him to help and he grabs the heavy chains that drape into a well. He pulls the chains out of the well along with the roots weighing it down. Waverly collapses to the ground and Doc rushes to her side to hold her, ensuring that she's okay. Waverly is surprised he came. She thanks him for saving her and for sucking the venom out of Wynonna. Doc is happy to have helped. He then helps Waverly to her feet as they cross the plain.

They have trouble finding the doorway back to Purgatory as all the remaining doors are locked. They come across a throne that Waverly realizes was meant for Julian - the angel who must turn to stone to protect Eden. Doc refuses to let Waverly sit on the stone-turning chair though she claims it's her birthright and legacy, before noting that she isn't sure why she said that. Doc realizes they aren't alone and they wander down some stairs that led them to a room with a man inside who is thrilled to see them. He's elated that the pairing is healthy for it and for their own sake. Waverly notices that he's Black Badge but doesn't let him explain the rules of the machine operating the garden. Waverly wants to go home but the man tells them there is only one way to leave the prison. He then uses hedge clippers to behead himself much to his shock and horror.

Doc and Waverly panic as they need answers with him suggesting she bring the man back to life like she did with Julian but it doesn't work. A menacing roar ripples through the air. Doc states that whatever this place is, it is angry. He reminds her that the thing needs human blood to survive, but neither of them is human so their blood won't work as a sacrifice. They turn the man upside down and use his remaining blood to fill the sacrifice, appeasing the place for now. Though Doc struggles to control his thirst which scares Waverly.

Doc manages to compose himself outside of the cave, and Waverly tracks him down. He comments that things are different in the world, remarking that he didn't make the fire in front of him as it just appeared. They need to find a way out soon but first, they need to rest. Doc wants to talk more so he can atone for his recent history, with Waverly reminding him that they have all done things to each other over the years. What's important is that he came and they will find them again. Doc slowly passes out as he mutters about Nicole and Wynonna, repeating the latter's name over and over again.

Doc awakens to find a tree blossoming with beautiful white flowers and realizes that Waverly might have done something dumb. He hears shouting and finds a naked "Nicole" in the cave smiling.

In Friends in Low Places, Doc is both surprised and confused that Nicole is here, but remarks why her garments didn't accompany her. Nicole realizes she's naked and shrieks trying to cover herself with her arms while Doc holds out his hat. She tells him not to look with him claiming that he would never. She tells him to stop talking and find her something to wear. He tries to hand her his jacket but a barrier around her stops him from giving the clothes. He promises to find her a top and pants and Waverly, with her just wanting Waverly. He finds Waverly on the plain and she hides the journal remarking that the fire has died down. She wants to protect this place as her father did, but Doc tells her to stop talking and listen. He tells her Nicole is here much to her glee yet confusion.

Waverly and Doc try to find a way around the barrier surrounding not-Nicole. Not-Nicole presents herself now that she's wrapped in flowers. Doc remarks that it's his turn to feed the machine blood. Nicole asks what happens if they don't feed it, but Doc doesn't want to find out and runs off to feed the machine. Once in the cave, a door opens and he passes through it. He circles a stone sculpture reflecting a few different faces of Nicole, or rather the thing impersonating Nicole. He realizes that the thing he left Waverly alone with is an imposter. He hurries back upstairs just as the barrier around not-Nicole shatters.

Doc runs through the plain screaming for Waverly to get away as it isn't Nicole. The creature remarks that she's going to hurt all of them, saying her name is Eve but the important thing is that she's out. Eve drags Waverly through the plain claiming she's a nightmare who is going to destroy everything including Eden. Julian died before he could tell Waverly how to save Eden from Eve. Waverly kicks Eve who roars in pain before grabbing her by the throat. Doc appears and punches Eve, who shifts into Jeremy.

He punches Eve repeatedly and she uses Jeremy's voice to taunt him. She tells him to pick a side already - it's either the demons or the humans, and Doc turns and runs Eve through with the hedge clippers and into the slate. Eve shifts into Wynonna and cries asking how he could do this to her. Doc doesn't let this get to him but Waverly tells Doc she won't let Eve escape her prison. She puts her hands on Doc's head and renders him unconscious before walking away. He awakens much later and grabs his hat, wobbling to his feet as he rushes after Waverly.

The real Wynonna crosses through the portal and finds Doc who mistakes her as Eve and attacks. They wrestle around with her trying to tell him everything that happened that led her to get to the Garden. He doesn't believe her at first but she pins him and brings up Alice, assuring him that it's her and not Eve. Doc can't risk it and flips Wynonna over and is about to bite her when she screams Hollywood which was their safeword. He stops now that he knows it is her and they kiss. He tells her to find Waverly while he deals with Eve.

He and Eve begin to fight as she shifts to Jeremy and reveals that she gains all the knowledge that the real Jeremy has. They struggle since Eve is stronger then Doc thought she would be. She wants to get to Purgatory, and Doc kicks her through a door before realizing they are running out of time. He reunites with Waverly and Wynonna. The trio runs through the plain but all the doors are locked and they can't find one that is open. One door is glowing and Doc points it out so they run to the door. Wynonna tries to deliver a snarky comment to Eden, but Doc isn't having it and throws her through the portal.

Doc awakens back at the well but is just thrilled to not be in the well. He calls for Wynonna or Waverly, mentioning that he has Waverly's satchel with the journal in it. He mutters the word home. He reunites with Wynonna on the homestead and they are happy to see that they are back. He asks about Waverly but Wynonna knows she went to see Nicole first. She gives Doc back his guns and he accepts but reminds her that if she ever needs them they're hers - and so is he. He goes to kiss her when she notices the town. He turns to see people hanging and the town destroyed, while under siege by unknown assailants.

In Look at Them Beans, Doc and Wynonna discuss the hangings and how people are playing hockey nonchalantly under the hanging bodies. They go to Shorty's to find it turned into a juice bar with hanging fruit and a new menu that angers Doc as they changed his bar. Chrissy Nedley greets Wynonna by throwing a bottle at her head angrily. They instantly start fighting and soon, everyone in the bar turns on Wynonna with guns pointed at her. The citizens demand that Wynonna releases Chrissy, then encourage Chrissy to say her peace. Chrissy places Wynonna under citizens’ arrest for the murder of Randy Nedley, much to Doc's shock.

Wynonna protests the murder of Nedley as she is dragged out of the bar by the citizen's much to Doc's protest. Chrissy refuses to take the word of an Earp, since the last time her father was seen he was with Wynonna before she disappeared for a year and a half. They try to hang Wynonna even though Doc threatens to shoot them all. The new Sheriff, Hoyt Clayborn, fires a gun in the air and stops the fighting. He tells Chrissy that her behavior isn't how they handle things in Purgatory. He helps Wynonna down then handcuffs her to take her for a trial. As she is being escorted away Doc promises to get everyone for help.

At the homestead, Nicole, Waverly, and Rachel check one of the ten traps that are set up around the property to catch monsters. They find Doc in a hole with a trap on his crotch. Nicole frees Doc which lets him greet Waverly, who thanks him for bringing her home. She also remarks on his skunk odor from the trap. He tells them that Wynonna is in jail having been framed for the murder of Nedley.

Waverly tries to process the fact Nedley is gone with Nicole being relatively unphased. She explains that some people returned but some just disappeared, including Kate, who Doc inquires about. Nicole adds that Jeremy is getting by but she hasn't heard from him in months while alluding to the fact Robin isn't alive. Waverly is confused that they were in the garden for a year and a half, with Doc thinking that time is more fluid in the garden. She wonders how old she is and how many episodes of Property Brothers she missed. Doc relates to her statement over Property Brothers. Doc tells a disheartened Nicole that what she did is heroic - watching the homestead and caring for Rachel. They discuss Mercedes and where she could have gone with Nicole sating that a new demon bar is out on Horse Head Trail. Doc asks about Charlene and is reunited with his dear car and happily speeds off.

He arrives at Glory Hole and greets the demons inside and knocks the bouncer out. He takes out his gunslingers and is greeted by a man who knows Doc's birthdate. They shake hands as he is the owner of the establishment, introducing himself as Amon. Doc demands to see Mercedes Gardener with the man merely saying he is happy to see a fellow demon. Mercedes emerges from the curtains calling herself “Portia-control”. She begins to sing and dance on stage. He watches Mercedes perform and is greeted by her once Amon leaves his side. She isn't a real demon but lets them think she is as it's safer that way. He explains that Wynonna is in jail for Nedley's murder, something Mercedes was worried might happen. Mercedes elaborates that she tried her best to nurse Nedley back to health but he ran away from her and into the woods where the monsters are. Doc wants her to come and attest to that but she refuses and offers to tell him where the People Eater is instead. He thanks her and leaves.

He stalks the woods for the People Eater, following a trail that leads to a bloodied and abandoned truck that was ambushed earlier that day. The crates inside are filled with whiskey which thrills him. He hears animal grumblings and turns to see a large creature emerging from the woods. He shoots the People Eater but it is unfazed and stalks toward Doc who grabs a bottle of whiskey and runs off. He runs to the homestead bangs on the windows trying to enter but Nicole freezes unable to let Doc into the homestead. Rachel snaps Nicole back to reality and Rachel lets Doc in as Nicole points a rifle at the door and shoots the monster through the door. Rachel comments that Doc is goals for carrying a bottle the whole way. He wants to return to the woods to finish the job as the beast is a host animal for what Rachel calls “little puff balls”.

The unlikely group preps for the monster but Doc isn't sure the thing is their enemy by the look in its eyes. Nicole frantically shows him a piece of a Hawaiian shirt that was in the trap after the incident. She thinks the monster killed Nedley and wants to kill it in return. Doc pieces together that the Ballpuffers are parasites and they took over something - or someone who keeps coming back to Nicole. The ogre didn't eat Nedley, the ogre is Nedley.

At the Purgatory border, Wynonna is being sacrificed to the People Eater by Cleo Clanton, the town's self-appointed and underqualified magistrate. Waverly bests Cleo just as Nicole and Doc arrive. They contain the ogre as Wynonna watches blissfully. Doc lassos Nedley and wrestles him to the ground and pins him. Nicole shoots Nedley with the kombucha which kills the parasites covering Nedley. He turns back into a human who is also very naked and confused as to why Doc is sitting on him. He greets Wynonna who tells him he survived and made it home. Doc states that Nedley wasn't in his right mind for a while.

Doc returns to the Glory Hole and is greeted by Amon who flirts with Doc until the topic of the liquor that Doc stole from the truck that Amon paid for comes up. Doc advises him to hire security for the next truck, offering himself as the one who should do it. In return, Amon offers something to feed Doc's vampire-hunger. Doc refuses saying he wants a future favor as he is the best for the job. They shake on their deal and Amon kisses his hand. Doc tips his hat and leaves.

In Afraid, Doc is at the Glory Hole when Amon walks up and gives him an envelope with information for the next truck he’ll rob. Amon notices Doc is looking at the bartender but Doc claims he isn’t interested in the woman and Amon brings up Wynonna. Doc makes it clear that Wynonna is her own woman and doesn’t belong to anyone, instantly defensive on why Amon wants to know. Amon claims it’s just interesting and that he’s their most dangerous weapon but denies his vampiric nature. Ravinia is the bartender and she pours him a “special blend” on Amon’s request. The blend is a shot of blood that Doc takes happily. Amon assures Doc that he’s safe there and can be who he really is. Doc agrees to try his best to bring Amon his next shipment.

The shipment, which is in a white BBD truck, runs over tire spikes that flatten the tires immediately. Doc enters the back of the truck and begins his heist when the passenger of the truck stalks around and points a gun at him. He returns to the sentiment and is shocked to see the passenger is Wynonna.

Doc is annoyed that Wynonna saw Jeremy and didn’t tell him, but Wynonna reminds him that it literally just happened but he’s fine. Doc thinks Jeremy could be kidnapped and she’s being gaslighted by BBD and she counters that he shouldn’t be robbing trucks. They bicker and he tells her to act like Wyatt Earp’s great-great-granddaughter even if she did lose his magic gun but knows he crossed a line. He claims he’s going to be taking the whiskey and she handcuffs herself to the whiskey so he can’t take her with it. He asks for the keys but she tells him that the driver has them and she flirts before he walks away to find tools to get her free from the handcuffs.

Doc returns to the truck but finds blood from where Wynonna was injured by a Reaper and tracks her scent to the woods where he enters an invisible barrier known as the Killing Floor. She screams at him to shoot it but he can’t see the Reaper. She’s scared as she doesn’t have her gun but he tells her that she has his and him. She tries to line up the shot and they fire at the same time and shoot the reaper. She cries into Doc’s chest. The Reaper awakens. They stand and he kicks the rock stack over but she tells him that the Reaper won’t like that. She runs away with Doc following her closely. They try to outrun the Reaper who is screeching behind them.

Unbeknownst to them, Billy Clanton performs a ritual that calls off the Reaper as he fears it is going after Rachel Valdez who is wearing Wynonna's leather jacket. The Reaper was sent by a Clanton to kill Wynonna. The Reaper following Doc and Wynonna runs away. Wynonna remarks that it hates her so much but is gone now. Doc assures her that he’s here and has her. holding her to his chest.

Waverly explains to everyone who has gathered that the hunter, that only Wynonna could see, is under the sway of Wyatt Earp’s greatest enemies. Wynonna realizes the C is for Clantons. Doc remarks that he always knew they were a plague with no cure. Nicole remarks that the Clanton’s run the town now - Sheriff Holt is a Clayton and so is Cleo. The creature was sent after only Wynonna and hated her. Their bullets were useless as the creature only stopped when Billy pulled something out of his mouth. He thought it was coming for Rachel but it wasn’t as the jacket wasn’t even Rachel’s, but Wynonna’s. Rachel claims it’s called a reaper and they have to save Billy. Rachel has a plan to stab everyone until they make Billy’s family pay. She doesn’t want to work with a team and storms off. Wynonna wants to get Jeremy back by telling the truth and beg.

In Holy War Part One, Wynonna is greeted by Doc who is watching her sleep. He’s been keeping watch over everyone as they have been under siege lately. She asks if he doesn’t sleep now that he’s a vampire, and Doc agrees. They begin to kiss when they see the fire from inside the homestead and rush there to save anyone. Rachel emerges but states the couch is gone and so is Wynonna’s porn collection. Nicole emerges with Waverly and she coughs awake not knowing what happened. Rachel claims the fire started on the couch and Wynonna thinks it could be the Clanton’s. Doc points out that the only footprints are their own, as he memorized all of their shoe sizes as pointed out by Rachel. Since there are no footprints the fire had to of been started by something supernatural, and Wynonna points out the Clanton’s are supernatural.

Wynonna and Doc enter the Glory Hole and she shoots an arrow at Amon who remains unfazed. He greets Doc and Wynonna happily. Amon advises her to ask next time before she hurts him. Doc intervenes saying they need information on who attacked the homestead, but Amon points out that only a coward would set home to a house full of sleeping women. Wynonna thinks it was the Clanton’s with Amon cautioning her against saying the “C” word around them. She asks Amon what species the Clanton’s are and though he is vague in his response, he thinks it’s time she gets Peacemaker back - and he knows exactly where it is.

Amon pours a shot as he explains that Demons are just sad and lonely demons that can’t handle their liquor. He offers the shot to Wynonna but she doesn't trust him enough to drink it. Doc takes the shot instead, much to Wynonna's surprise. Amon elaborates that he heard a few demons talk about a cherished place where forgotten and lost items end up. Doc is suspicious as to why Amon would help a demon-hunter find her gun, with Amon explaining that the Clanton’s are more powerful than him and he doesn’t bottom for anyone - not even Doc. There is a catch as the people who have Peacemaker will want an offer and once they have what they need they’ll find them. Wynonna leaves. Doc warns him that if this turns out to be fake they’ll come back and kill him.

Waverly rolls more BBD files into the Sheriff's office while Nicole secures a lock on the door. Wynonna breaks it as she storms in looking for Jeremy. Doc greets Jeremy and they hug as Wynonna recaps what Amon said and that he knows where Peacemaker is. Nicole holds up the drill pointing it at Wynonna as she turns it on, a dark look on her face. Wynonna snaps at her to stop so Nicole does but is confused. No one is sure how they can help look for Peacemaker, with Nicole stating that she scoured the GRT for Peacemaker but didn’t find it. Wynonna thinks she has to trust Amon and Doc points out that the team is unanimous.

Wynonna and Doc enter the ghost river triangle museum. They separate after a few minutes but she finds him again in a screening room with an old western playing. She asks if it’s from the Great Lebowski, but Doc chuckles saying that is her Great-Great-Grandfather, Wyatt Earp.

Doc continues to watch the interview of Wyatt with Wynonna. Wyatt tells a story about how a man saved his life from an executioner who was just a dentist. Wyatt expresses gratitude for Doc as Wynonna asks who the attacker was, but Doc never bothered to ask as the man didn’t deserve to be remembered for shooting another man in the back. She asks if he misses the old west and he remarks that the rules were simpler. She sees a photo on the wall with Rosita on it and claims that if revenants were still around Rosita would be her first kill for what she tried to do to Alice. The man brings up the OK Corral with Wyatt responding that there would never be peace with the Clanton’s around. He was relieved the Doc Holliday took the first shot. But Doc remarks that he didn’t shoot first. She reminds him that old people remember things how they want too not how they happened. Doc remarks that he doesn’t have the luxury of getting old, with her asking if Wyatt would be proud of her but he doesn’t know if she would be proud of Wyatt. He leaves to attend the heist and she follows.

They look at a painting that is terrible as that’s the object the people with Peacemaker want. A painting called “A Woman Scorned”. She proposes two different, albeit elaborate, plans to pull off the heist. Doc removes the painting from the wall and leaves the museum with it. They run out and wait for the collectors to appear. She sees a Celtic Sister Knot painting on the wall. Doc explains that it symbolizes sisterhood and the strong, eternal bond that women share. He made acquaintances with some sorority sisters. They suddenly hear loud chimes that debilitates them. When Doc looks up Wynonna is gone.

At the Glory Hole, Amon is upset that Doc is back asking for more help and didn’t at least bring him flowers. Doc has a gun on him asking if the painting was just a rouse to get Wynonna gone. Amon points out that if it was a trap it wouldn’t have been set by him, as he’s in it for himself. He likens his situation to Doc’s as they're only out for himself. Doc isn’t neutral anymore and walks away to sit across from Holt Clayborn who already knows who Doc is. Holt just wanted a beer but the banter between them grows. Holt asks if the “faster gunslinger in the West” thing is something to be proud of, as he’s shooting people who don’t have the chance to fight back. Doc believes some people deserve to be shot and Holt asks who decides that. The history books say one thing but his family says another. Holt draws and so does Doc as they point their guns at each other. Holt asks if Doc deserves a bullet, or if he does, setting his gun down. He decides to let fate decide. Doc warns him that no matter what side they’re on the blood they shed to win the war will damn them. Holt doesn’t think it’s a war but a town, with women who would have them fight to the death. He downs his drink and leaves the bar. Doc sips at his drink.

He returns to the Earp homestead and sees Nicole, whose been hexed, hurries inside to vomit more frogs. He asks Wynonna if she's okay and she claims that she's better then Nicole. They head to the barn to talk. He asks if she’s certain the gun was even there but she is sure it was. She just couldn’t get it to come. She thinks it makes sense since the curse is broken and she’s not the heir or much of anything. Doc murmurs that she’s everything. She asks what he meant earlier about her not being proud of Wyatt. Doc explains that they were immortalized as heroes but not everything they did was great. She counters that the Clanton’s murdered people and took their lands. He reminds her it was the Old West. The only difference between them was the stars pinned to Doc and Wyatt’s vests. He admits that he wonders if this legacy of bloodshed will be the death of everything they love. Maybe they should their cue and make peace. Nicole appears and throws a knife at Wynonna's head, with Wynonna barely ducking in time.

Nicole approaches and slashes at Wynonna, slicing her arm open. Doc restrains Nicole just was Waverly arrives confused, but they explain Nicole started it. Wynonna knocks Nicole out with a punch while Doc begins to lose control of his vampire side. He walks away from the scene as Nicole wakens. He explains the darkest of magic is behind this. He picks u Nicole’s clothes and Doc says it smells of gasoline. She started the Homestead fire and Wynonna plans to kill the Clanton’s now. The rest of the team thinks she should be smart and wait until they have Peacemaker. Waverly reminds her not to jump to Plan Z when they haven’t tried Plan A. Doc chimes in that they have to find the woman in the painting and bring her to the sanctuary. If Peacemaker doesn’t show then they’ll take them on together. Wynonna tells Nicole to tie up Nicole so nothing else happens while she and Doc are gone.

Wynonna and Doc head to Steve Gulch looking for the woman scorned. Wynonna doesn’t want to reject her legacy as the heir is the only thing she’s ever been good at. Doc thinks they’re both just too stubborn to wash the blood of their hands. They arrive at the boulders to see a woman in a red coat standing there. Wynonna calls to her and when she turns around they are shocked to see that the woman is Rosita.

In Holy War Part Two, Wynonna is mad that Rosita is alive and Rosita thinks they’ve come to kill her last as Wynonna promised. Wynonna is down for that but Doc stops her as they need her alive. Rosita explains that can’t leave. After the Earthquake Phil, the revenant with all the boils, rounded up a posse to hunt her down. She slept with Phil’s wife. She ran to the outcropping where she would be safe since stepping on the rock is dangerous to revenants. She’s strong so she thought she could handle it. When the rumbling escalated all the revenants went poof one-by-one and suddenly, they couldn’t feel the pain anymore. Phil got handsy so she kicked him off the rock and he went poof. If he poofed so will Rosita. She can’t leave the island. Wynonna points out the ammolite rock that the island is made of, and since before the curse broke it hurt them it must protect them now. If they can get more rocks they can get Rosita off the island. Much to Wynonna’s disliking.

Doc and Wynonna make a path of ammolite that will keep Rosita safe, but Doc will have to move the back stone to the front and so on until they get to the sanctuary. Rosita is cautious about leaving the island so Wynonna has to tell her that the earthquake was Bulshar breaking the curse. She looks to Doc saying that it was his baby too. He knows she did what she did to survive and forgives her. Rosita makes Wynonna and Doc pinky-swear not to hurt her then leaves the island onto the path of rocks. Bells chime in the distance and a Celtic sisters knot appears again. Wynonna asks if Doc’s coming but he doubts he’ll be welcome there. The women jump through the portal just as Doc receives a call from Sheriff Clayborn.

Rachel is at the station where Cleo and Clayborn argue over whether to kill Rachel. Doc arrives for Rachel and Clayborn gives her back her phone and she leaves so the adults can talk. Holt brings up what he said about the blood they shed damning them all. He’s tired of fighting a war that isn’t even his anymore. He believes people can change and there’s a woman he wants to ask out but he doesn’t want to worry about the Earp’s. Doc proposes enmity for those that share their name future and present. He’s almost 170 years old. He doesn't care about the past anymore, it’s just a burden. Holt agrees to let Rachel go as she makes Billy happy. Doc hopes they can have a happier ending too. The men agree to bring their proposition to their own clans. They shake hands and Doc leaves.

Rachel and Doc leave the station and she’s worried Clayborn won’t hold up his end of the deal but Doc tells her to leave it to the adults - not youngins who had their heartbroken by what Doc calls a “swain”. Rachel thinks they killed Billy which doc is dubious. She explains she saw Mam dropping blood on a rock and talking crap about Waverly. Now she isn’t answering any of Rachel’s calls. He tells Rachel to get in the car to go home while he handles the rest.

Doc goes to Magpie's Ranch just in time to see Clayborn pointing a gun at Wynonna and vice versa. . A gunshot is heard and Doc walks over with his gun. He demands they lower their weapons but Holt thinks it’s too late. Doc promises it isn’t and lowers Peacemaker. Holt is the Clanton heir now and doesn’t have a choice anymore. Doc states the one thing he learned from Wynonna - there is always another way. Whatever he’s up against they can work it out for the good of their kin - together. Wynonna and Waverly are surprised the men are working together. Holt tells Doc that Billy was turned by Mam but didn’t deserve it. Doc talks Holt down and they decide to get a drink. A gunshot rips through the air and hits Holt who falls to his knees, dead. On the other end is Wynonna who shot Holt much to Doc’s shock. She thanks Doc for distracting him.

At the homestead, Wynonna joins Doc on the porch as they talk about Nicole and how she’s okay now. Doc is upset that she killed Holt and that she believed in him. There isn’t any honor in shooting a man in the back. Wynonna doesn’t give a shit about honor anymore but he reminds her she only did those things because of Wyatt Earp. She counters that Doc was his best friend and he’s only mad at Wyatt for speaking the truth in that video. Doc is hurt she thinks that was the truth. Wynonna takes him saying she likes him because he’s not perfect - he’s busted inside like her. Doc doesn’t want to be broken anymore and they both have a choice. He asks if she ever thought about why the Clanton’s never turned revenants. It was because when Wyatt shot he ran at the OK Corral and Doc was forced to kill them. Wynonna states she would never and will never run. He walks past her commenting that she and the gun deserve each other. She puts her head on his shoulder saying that the Clanton’s are the ones who wanted Alice. Waverly opens the door asking if they’re coming in. Wynonna agrees but Waverly has to persuade Doc who agrees and steps inside.

Jeremy and Nedley toast to their first, and hopefully last, exorcism. Jeremy refuses to give Rachel alcohol and Nicole doesn't want any since she’s recovering. Waverly asks if she and Doc are okay but Wynonna claims they’re the same. Jeremy asks if Nicole and Waverly are getting married or what? He presses about what they’ve been doing all this time. The women admit they had proposals planned. Nicole takes Waverly’s hand and everyone stops to watch. She starts to propose but Waverly asks if she can do it. Waverly gets on one knee. Doc removes his hat. Wynonna smiles at them. Waverly asks Nicole to marry her and Nicole happily agrees as they kiss by the fireplace. Everyone toasts to the engagement. Doc smiles happily on. While everyone celebrates, Doc sneaks away as Wynonna watches while crying.

In Love's All Over, at Shorty’s, everyone gathers to celebrate Wayhaught’s engagement. Doc makes a toast to the engaged couple but tells them he can’t come to their official engagement party. Nedley takes Rachel aside while Doc and Waverly talk, with her wanting him at the party but he doesn’t want to see Wynonna. Doc tells Waverly that he can build her an arch if she wants to be married under one, which she appreciates. Wynonna waltzes in with Doc congratulating Waverly again before leaving.

Waverly goes to Amon’s club with a pie. She wants to choose a date but Nicole is reluctant because of the war going on between the species, asking for one day of truce. She bops his nose and transfers pink substance to his nose, and he becomes entranced with her. As she leaves, Doc asks what happened between her and Ma’am Clanton but Waverly doesn’t remember as she only touched Clanton. She just wants to be happy and wants love for everyone which he knows, but they have to find out what happened to Holt’s sister.

Doc, however, goes to Clanton’s junkyard where he finds Ma’am Clanton’s body. He finds Cleo hiding and she begs him to kill her as she feels lost without her mother. Doc brushes off his jacket when he sees a pink speck that makes him entranced by Cleo. He begins to flirt with her. Doc and Cleo talk on the porch with her thinking she’s too stupid or alone to fulfill her mother’s goals. He assures her that isn’t the case as she survived and can be her own legacy. She’s confused why he’s helping her but he claims it’s just what he does and leaves.

Waverly, now surrounded by everyone she knows at Shorty's, frantically calls Doc for help as everyone is infected with the love glitter that the Cupid gave her. She believes Doc is the only one uninfected. He agrees to help and hangs up as Cleo walks over. She reveals the favor Ma’am did for Nicole and the price she would have to pay, killing Doc for Waverly. He understands and leave to help Waverly.

Nedley and Doc slow dance while Amon and Bunny dance. Wynonna and Nicole slow dance and talk as they are all now attracted to one another. Wynonna substitutes Nicole for Nedley but Doc can’t dance with Nicole, so he swaps out for Wynonna. Waverly points out how real the love between Wynonna and Doc seems, but Demetri points out that it's fake due to the glitter. She helps him realize how real some love truly is so he agrees to help her clean up her mess. His spit destroys love and will help everyone return to normal. One-by-one, Waverly and Demetri remove the love spell, starting with Doc and Wynonna. She doesn’t want to let him go so he removes her arms and leaves.

In Hell Raisin' Good Time, Doc drinks while playing cards at the Glory Hole when he is called over by Amon who tells him about Rotten Jack, a demon who is only active on Halloween. Each tarot card image represents a possible target, and they bet on which of the cards will be his last victim. A sorcerer, a warrior, a healer, a mother, and an angel. Amon remarks that he’s heard rumors about angels so Doc goes to leave, only to be reminded that he hasn’t delivered booze in weeks. Amon asks Doc to return a pair of lingerie to Wynonna but Doc refuses and quits his employment.

He hides behind the bar while waiting for Amon's reinforcements to show up. While a memory erased Wynonna and Waverly show up, he's confused as to why they aren't acting like themselves. Dallas and another demon show up to fetch the booze, and he punches Dallas up the ceiling after Wynonna pulls the demon's tail, telling her to get Peacemaker. When the two sisters see Doc's eyes, they run out the back and Doc gives chase, yelling for them. He later calls Jeremy, telling him the situation, and Jeremy tells him that their memories were erased due to the fog. He goes to find Casey, who is underneath a table writing a letter to the Earp sisters, and talks to him about being a screw-up, encouraging the half demon to help him.

He goes to the Glory Hole, threatening to hang Amon by his cravat when he sees the Earp sisters about to auctioned for death. After Jeremy reveals himself with a signal and gives the girls the memory serum, he goes after Amon. When Amon locks everyone in with Rotten Jack, he hands Wynonna her gun and helps Waverly down to distract the demon. Later that evening, he eventually captures Amon, ties him up and brings him to the demons. He tells the demons they can do whatever they want with Amon as they are now free and walks away.

In Crazy, Jeremy shows the Earp’s a murdered corpse in the office since the rats took over the morgue. The dead man won trivia at Shorty’s last week which while tragic, makes Waverly and Jeremy excited. Wynonna cheers when she sees the fang marks on the man’s neck and assumes it was Doc so she rushes off to see him. A man in a restaurant is killed by two bite marks.

Wynonna arrives at the Glory Hole drunk and interrupts Doc’s socializing but Doc assures them that they are safe. Now alone at the bar, she confronts him about killing the humans and tries to seduce him but he assures her that his morals are sound. They fight over her shooting someone in the back so she points Peacemaker at him causing him to show his fangs. She confronts the demons about the dead man while Doc assures Wynonna that he will keep an eye out for the demon. At Shorty’s, Rachel and Nicole talk about her freeing Billy. Rachel calls her chicken kicker so Nicole reminds her of the promise never to tell anyone. Rachel apologizes for letting Billy out and they talk. Rachel reminds Nicole that Doc will forgive her if she explains her reasons. Waverly and Jeremy talk about a new corpse that also won the trivia night. Jeremy points out that the bite marks aren’t from a vampire. He asks what is going on with Doc and Wynonna, with Waverly telling him about Wynonna shooting Doc.

Later at Shorty's, Waverly, Jeremy, and Doc are competing in pop culture 101 and get every question right. Doc gets the dead man’s hand question wrong as the hand is a pair of aces and eights. He tries to argue that it’s wrong despite having been there. Doc wonders where Koru is.

Doc tries to tell Waverly and Jeremy that they have to leave but Nedley tells them that it’s a draw between Waverly and Jeremy. Doc is unable to leave due to the spell but the contestants can’t snap out of it. Wynonna is forced to lay on the gurney while Doug approaches her with a knife. Nicole and Doc meet in the cellar since they’re stuck in the building. She realizes they’ll need a distraction and need a chicken kicker. Nicole takes Rachel’s phone for the video of the chicken kicker. She plays the video of herself drunk and in the station while yelling at everyone. Doc covers Rachel’s ears as Nicole curses in the video and then punts a cooked chicken. Jeremy wins the trivia contest.

Waverly and Jeremy celebrate his win while Nicole approaches Doc cautiously. She is grateful to him for bringing Waverly back but she had to be sure. He wonders what the Clanton’s wanted with him but she isn’t sure, but she knew whatever it was that he could handle it. But if he couldn’t they would figure it out together because she would fight for him too. He convinces her to reclaim her Sheriff title.

In Life Turned Her That Way, Waverly and Doc meet at the entrance to the garden with the blank book she got from the garden. She tells Doc that Wynonna isn’t okay but she hopes the book will have answers but it’s still blank. That’s why she chose her book - because everyone is in her story. Waverly doesn’t associate the throne with torment, it just took her cares away which felt like heaven. They are interrupted by two demons who want to hunt Waverly, but Doc refuses to allow it. Waverly pulls out Peacemaker but it doesn’t work for her anymore. Waverly takes off running and accidentally runs into the fog. Doc fights the demons as Remy warns that Waverly is in the fog. A few minutes later, they are hit by darts by BBD agents. Now imprisoned, Doc demands to speak with Jeremy Chetri but the agent in charge, Graham, won't allow it. The second agent tells Graham that they already have a horned demon, so Graham gives him permission to use flame thrower to kill the demon.

Doc, who gets free somehow, finds Jeremy who is imprisoned. The guard runs away while Jeremy explains that he’s been imprisoned for disagreeing with orders. Doc tries to shoot a lock pad which triggers a shutdown.

Wynonna screams for the BBD agents to open the door and meets General Graham who wants to take her out of the Ghost River Triangle as the fog will overcome the town. She refuses so they take her to see Doc and Jeremy, but she can only free one so she chooses Jeremy. She apologizes to Doc then chooses Cleo Clanton. She promises Doc that she will come back for them. He begs Wynonna not to do this but she leaves with Cleo.

Doc can’t use his vampire strength to remove the bars, just as they are visited by Mercedes. She uses a compact mirror to help Jeremy see the wires of the broken cell. They are visited by the guards who believe they can’t save anyone without their prized fighters, the demons. Agent Graham shoots Mercedes in the stomach.

In Better Dig Two, BBD guards drag a bleeding Mercedes into the cell with Jeremy and Doc. Doc struggles to restrain himself from hurting Mercedes, while Jeremy attempts to keep him calm. Mercedes bleeds out in pain while Jeremy and a werewolf try to calm her and Doc. The werewolf and Doc begin to fight. Doc badly wants to eat Mercedes but Jeremy assures Doc that he’s not stopping him for Mercedes but Doc, as he’s made amends and changed so he wouldn’t want to kill again. Jeremy offers himself instead as he’s lost everything that he loved, but Doc opts to hug Jeremy instead. Mercedes volunteers herself as being turned as together, she and Doc can free everyone. Doc requires her expressed consent and she gives it, so Doc turns her. Mercedes and Doc use their combined strength to free themselves and the other prisoners.

Doc, Mercedes, Jeremy, and the gang try to flee and Graham opens it at the force of Nicole, who holds a gun to his head. She tells Graham that the town is inclusive from now on but not to dickwads like him. She announces herself as the sheriff and renders him unconscious. Once outside, Jeremy tells everyone that the fog is gone, though Doc begins to hear whispering that means he has to get ready. While everyone leaves, Doc stays behind to get more guns.

Waverly emerges in front of Doc, telling him that she’s the protector of the fifth realm and she plans to get her property back, the book, for then she can return home. Doc is prepared to fight just as the Clanton mark is burned into his hand and he vanishes. At the junkyard, Wynonna doesn’t feel any different and Cleo realizes the spell didn’t work, though Doc emerges from behind her to declare he is the Clanton heir.

Doc forces Wynonna into the stone circle while the reapers surround them. Cleo flees the junkyard. Wynonna tries to escape but can’t as the circle has a shield around it. She tries to reach Doc who is intent on having a duel in front of their ancestors. She refuses though Rachel throws Peacemaker into the circle as she’s been restrained by Hoyt. Doc threatens to kill Rachel if Wynonna doesn’t pick up the gun. She refuses to participate unless he spares Rachel, and when he agrees, she obliges and picks up the weapon.

They turn around and he turns to fire though Wynonna doesn’t, as she knows his code to never shoot someone in the back. He falters as she apologizes for breaking the code, but he eerily says the Clanton’s have no code. Wynonna shoots the force field so it will ricochet and kill Hoyt which frees Rachel. Doc fires but the gun misfires as he loaded it with the wrong bullets. She drops next to him as he bleeds. Meanwhile, Randy and Billy perform the spell to turn him into the reaper. Doc tells Wynonna that they have stalled but not for long, telling her to finish what he started. She tells him she wants him in this life but he tells her to kill the reapers and him as this is the last thing he will ever ask of her. She knows it’s wrong as he falls to the ground. Waverly appears.

Wynonna asks Waverly to save Doc but she is hesitant so Wynonna tries to appeal to her as the Earp heir, the champion. She kneels in front of Waverly, admitting that she’s given everything and lost everything, so if Waverly is leaving her too then she can at least save the man they both love. Waverly requests the book in return. She resurrects Doc and pulls the book from Wynonna’s emotional grasp. When Waverly walks away, Wynonna falls to Doc’s chest as he struggles to comfort her.

At Shorty’s, the group celebrates that they can leave Purgatory if they want. Wynonna drapes a blanket over Doc again but their kiss is interrupted by Nicole, who wants to talk about the big thing. Waverly assures everyone that Angel Waverly is gone now that Nicole is the angel shield and they kiss. Nicole begins to say something else until Jeremy jumps in that BBD has retreated from the triangle and if they come back everyone will be ready. Doc marvels that he can see his reflection, meaning that Waverly brought him back as a human as that is what Doc wanted. He wants a fresh start with everything and is about to kiss Wynonna until Nicole interrupts again as she wants to talk about it. Everyone is confused until she states that it’s the wedding.

In Old Souls, Doc is in his trailer that he took from Casey when Wynonna runs up asking for his help. She pulls off her trench coat to reveals she is wearing Waverly's wedding dress.

Wynonna explains the situation to Doc so he gives alcohol to help. He is giving a speech at the wedding which she worries about but he offers to help get her out of the dress. He turns her around in a circle as he tries to find a zipper and offers to cut the dress and sew it back together. He tries to cut the dress but the threads are enchanted. They hear a truck approaching so Wynonna hides in the trailer. Waverly jumps out of the jeep and approaches with a saddle, Wyatt Earp’s, and gives it to Doc. She tells him that he’s a good person who is trying to be better every day which makes him the best man she’s ever known, asking him to be her best man today. He wonders about Wynonna but Waverly notes that she’s standing in with Nicole as they’re best friends. Doc says yes to being her best man while she runs off. Doc asks about the wedding dress, to which she admits it’s a vintage boutique.

Wynonna and Doc head to the shop as crows caw. They enter to find hundreds of wedding dresses on mannequins, except for one that comes to life. The woman remarks that Wynonna is the perfect mark but can’t help with the dress as it will do its work regardless. The woman begins to sing that the slaughter will begin at the hand of the bride when the wedding bells sing. She warns that killing her won’t end the coming bloodshed, and they can’t destroy the dress without killing the person wearing it. She offers to end the curse if they get her some rare worms. Doc dives into the river while she finds a letter in his jacket that admits he is leaving. The letter was for Wynonna to say goodbye.

Doc dries off while Wynonna is angry at him for wanting to leave without her. He knows it’s time to leave as he admits he wasn’t going to leave a letter he was trying to find the right words to say. He wants her to come with him but she remarks it isn’t time for this as they need to get her out of the dress. Wynonna and Doc bring Brigitte the worms she wanted but Brigitte knows that they’re earthworms. Waverly runs in and attacks Brigitte, and they are able to get the dress off Wynonna and end the curse.

With everything ready to begin, Doc and the others gather at the Earp homestead for a wedding. Nedley walks Nicole down the aisle where Jeremy is waiting to officiate. Nedley kisses Rachel’s forehead and Doc stands where Waverly will, shaking Rachel’s hand before he stands. Waverly and Wynonna walk down the aisle arm-in-arm as Rachel watches in awe. The sisters touch foreheads as Wynonna tells Waverly she is the best of them all. Nedley and Rachel take their seats while Jeremy begins the ceremony. The women hold hands to say vows while Jeremy wraps their hands in a string for a hand-fasting. Nicole says her vows and then Waverly recites hers. As the vows are said, Wynonna and Doc look at one another. As the ceremony takes place, empty chairs where those who have fallen or absent are shown. Jeremy finishes the ceremony and pronounces them married.

A celebration commences of dancing and drinking. Doc hugs goodbye to the brides as Wynonna watches from the porch. He walks away and gets into his car and drives away. Wynonna stalks toward Doc’s car as he was serious about leaving. He wants to see the rock-and-roll hall of fame. She doesn’t understand what he wants. He admits that vengeance drove him when he was in the well, but when he was scared in the dark he mostly thought about love. He thinks finding a group of souls who will tolerate him and elevate him and one who will love him is what life is all about. Wynonna can’t leave Waverly, which he understands. She admits they’re the same, to which he compliments that she is the best Earp he’s had the privilege of calling a friend. He kisses her cheek goodbye as she apologizes for hurting him. He drives off in his car as she watches tearfully.

When she returns to the homestead Waverly convinces her to follow after Doc and leave Purgatory to her and Nicole. Outside, everyone cheers as Wynonna runs past them to leave. Her truck dies as Jeremy states that Doc is almost to the border. She then spots a motorcycle and takes the back roads. She shoots out Doc’s tires to stop him from leaving. They meet in the middle of the road as she asks if he really thought he could leave without her. She confesses that she loves him - his face, his butt, his drawl, his heart, and the way he loves her sister and her. He returns the sentiment to which she agrees to come with him. He takes off his hat and kisses her. They climb onto her motorcycle with her driving and remarking that it’s been a long time since she’s traveled light. Together, they drive down the road and into the sunset.

They stop at a gas station to look at the itinerary. She asks if they can make a pitstop in Miracles Montana, revealing that Alice is there. He worries their daughter won’t recognize them but Wynonna is sure she will. She remarks to being all in and they kiss before driving off once more.

Physical Appearance[]

Doc is tall, in his 30s, with a hardy frame, long brown hair and a moustache. He dresses in late 1800s/early 1900s apparel and carries a Colt Single Action Army pistol and a Colt Lightning pistol.

Relationships[]

Wynonna Earp[]

Relationship: Girlfriend, mother of their daughter.

Having been stuck down a well on the Earp family land, Wynonna, while looking for Wyatt's peacemaker in a well, accidentally lets free Doc, who had been trapped down there for over 100 years. At first meeting ('Purgatory') in Shorty's, they start talking about the peacemaker, with Doc telling a story about Wyatt, the peacemaker, Doc Holliday's friendship with Wyatt (he did not hint of his true identity) and how Wyatt became a 'gun-slinger'. Wynonna, hearing all of this information about her great, great grandfather, assumes that this new man is an Earp fan. Eventually, after learning that he was speaking to an Earp, he bids her a goodbye and walks away. She meets him and also talks about him a couple of times later, where she learns that he is calling himself 'Henry'.

In 'Leavin' on Your Mind', Doc comes around to visit Wynonna at her house, where he decides to introduce himself honestly and tells her that he is, in fact, Doc Holliday which shocks her. In 'The Blade' he shows Wynonna proof that he is indeed 'The fastest gun-slinger in the West' by showing off his moves to her. She believes him straight away. While arguing in a forest in 'Diggin' Up Bones', Doc decides to kiss Wynonna which she reciprocates. This is when they have sex for the first time

While at the diner ('Constant Cravings'), Waverly and Wynonna begin to discuss sex after Wynonna accidentally sees a 'dick-pic' of Champ when snatching Waverly's phone. Wynonna then mentions that there's more to life than sex but, unknown to Waverly, turns it towards how great her sex with Doc was: "There's more to life than crazy, hot, toe-curling, out-of-body, back-into-body, 'angel singing hallelujah' sex". In turn, Waverly thinks Wynonna's talking about Dolls, incorrectly guessing who her sister slept with.

They sleep together once more in 'Bury Me With My Guns On', as a way for Wynonna to blow off steam, after what she went through with the Jack of Knives and Dr. Reggie. Waverly finally finds out about who her sister had been sleeping with when Wynonna tells both Waverly and Nicole at the station (Nicole already knew). As a surprise, Wynonna drives the Stone Witch's car to the Homestead, where Doc, unaware at first that the car is being driven by Wynonna, is waiting on the porch. She hands him the keys as a present from her to him. He loves the color, mentioning that it's a strong, masculine choice, which causes Wynonna to be a little confused, telling him that pink is traditionally a girls color. This amuses Doc, as he tells her that back in his day, girls were all delicate and dainty in blues and that she would look good wearing said color. It's at this point, that Wynonna tells Doc that everyone knows about them and the sex. ('She Wouldn't Be Gone')

After deciding to leave Purgatory, coming back and getting kidnapped, Doc comes to the aid of Wynonna and the gang, helping them with the major problem of Bobo poisoning the whole town with tainted champagne and Bobo's escape plan involving Willa and Peacemaker. ('House of Memories'). After the town gets the antidote, Wynonna and Doc go searching, with Dolls' say so, through his vault of weapons for something to stop Bobo and Willa once and for all. While there, Doc suggests they could settle down together, growing crops on a farm, live a peaceful life. However, Wynonna has her eyes on the much needed task at hand. Eventually, the duo find Bobo and Willa and with some fight coming from both sides, Wynonna eventually kills them both, though not without the emotional pain that comes with losing a sister. Again. Doc comforts Wynonna for a moment before talking through with the plan on moving forward in the Triangle. It's at this moment that Waverly becomes possessed and appears to shoot at both Wynonna and Doc. ('I Walk the Line').

S2 WyDoc Promotional

The season continues on from where the last ended, with Doc and Waverly panicky running through the snow, away from the creature we learn Waverly had shot at in the Season 1 finale. Soon enough though, they both appear to be in trouble, as the creature, knocking them both away, starts to tuck into eating Doc's hat. However, not liking the taste of hat, becomes angry and decides to lunge towards both Doc and Waverly. Thankfully though, Wynonna appears from nearby in the nick of time and hits it hard in its body with a small tree trunk, before killing it with Peacemaker. Sometime later, having found help in the form of Dolls’ work partner, Eliza, the Scooby Gang, alongside Eliza, sort out various interconnecting plans to get Dolls out from wherever BBD had taken him, Wynonna mentioning that Doc, Eliza and herself should work together. After a quick detour to Dolls’ office to get some serum for him, Wynonna tells Doc that she needs him to do some dumpster diving for a dead possum, a part of her plan to free Dolls. We next see Wynonna and Doc in hazmat suits, with the dead possum being used as a way to get into BBD HQ, by the both of them covering themselves with the scent of said possum. It does end up working, as they find themselves within BBD, though it's not long before some alarms get set off, causing Doc to take over, at least once, of carrying the responsibilities of saving someone, of saving Dolls from Wynonna's shoulders. They share a warm look before Doc goes off in search of Dolls. Eventually, Doc does save Dolls, however, he gets reacquainted with Wynonna and the gang by way of getting beaten and bruised by members of BBD, who find him where he shouldn't be. The only way out of this predicament they found themselves in, is to sign themselves over to BBD by way of blood oaths. When back at the Homestead, Wynonna and Doc have a talk about things, which turns to Wynona asking Doc to join her showering, however he turns her down which disappoints her ‘(Steel Bars and Stone Walls)’.

In I Hope You Dance, Doc learns he is the true father of Wynonna's child, Alice Michelle.

402 Doc Wynonna

Reunited in Eden

Wynonna spends days preparing to search for Doc and Waverly in the hopes of saving them from the Garden of Eden and bringing them home. She expressed that she couldn't lose the people behind the door. (On the Road Again) Meanwhile, Eve, a shapeshifter in Eden, shifted into Wynonna and used her voice and body to toy with Doc. He knew it wasn't the real Wynonna and was angered that Eve disrespected Wynonna by taking her face. He was able to defeat Eve, however, when the real Wynonna arrived her mistook her for a freed Eve and they fought. She tried to convince him it was really her by bringing up Alice, but he couldn't take the risk that she wasn't who she said she was. When he was about to bite her she screams their safe word, Hollywood, which makes him stop instantly. They came up with the safe word for when things get too heated in the bedroom. Relieved that it's really her, they kiss passionately and then separate to find Waverly. When they return to Purgatory, Doc and Wynonna find each other as they were scattered upon crossing over. She gives Doc back his guns and he accepts but reminds her that if she ever needs them they're hers - and so is he. He goes to kiss her when she notices the town has been taken over. (Friends in Low Places) Doc works hard to get Wynonna exonerated for the murder of Randy Nedley and helped track down the "people eater" who was really an infected Randy. Doc was deeply worried about Wynonna's safety when the town wanted to hang her for murder. (Look at Them Beans)

404 Doc Wynonna2

When the situation was sorted, they drifted apart and Doc took a job heisting booze from BBD supply trucks and encountered Wynonna during his heist. He was surprised when she began working with the Black Badge Division again, let alone protecting the contraband he was trying to steal. She explained that it wasn't her idea but the BBD is different now, even if he wasn't convinced. He was also hurt when she confessed to seeing Jeremy Chetri at BBD and he was safe, as he wanted to know that Jeremy was okay. She countered that she didn't have time yet to tell him but was planning too. To stop him from taking the booze she handcuffed herself to the alcohol crates which lead to a close sexual encounter between the pair. Wynonna tried to seduce him but Doc left to get something to free her from the cuffs. When he returned, he smelled her blood in the truck and she was gone. He followed her scent and frantically tracked her into the woods where he was able to save her from a Reaper who had lured her into a Killing Floor.

404 Doc Wynonna

She screams at him to shoot it but he can’t see the Reaper. She’s scared as she doesn’t have her gun but he tells her that she has his and him. She tries to line up the shot and they fire at the same time and shoot the reaper. She cries into Doc’s chest. The Reaper awakens. They stand and he kicks the rock stack over but she tells him that the Reaper won’t like that. The Reaper following Doc and Wynonna is called off by a friendly Clanton. She remarks that it hates her so much but is gone now. Doc assures her that he’s here and has her as he holds her to his chest. (Afraid)

Trivia[]

  • He is portrayed as Wyatt Earp's closest friend, which is accurate with his real life counterpart who was a companion of the real Wyatt Earp after Doc saved his life in 1879 up until they had a falling out in 1882 over Wyatt's girlfriend Josephine "Sadie" Marcus who Doc did not like.
  • Doc was thrown down the well sometime between 1882 and 1888, making him physically 30–37 years old. The real life Doc Holliday was reported to have died on November 8th, 1887 at the age of 37.
  • He was trapped in a well for 130 years and 3 months, according to Doc in Bury Me With My Guns On and only escapes from the well after Wynonna leaves a rope hanging.
  • In the show he is portrayed as one of the best gunslingers of his era and proves his identity to Wyonna with his incredible aim. In reality, Doc Holliday was a rather poor shot, accuracy wise. What made him dangerous was his speed on the draw, and the fact that he usually managed to get into scrapes at ranges where his poor aim didn't matter.
  • Doc fiddles with his hat every time he senses danger.
  • In Steel Bars and Stone Walls, when Eliza first walks into the Earp house, Doc makes a comment about her: I do not believe we have met. In fact, the actors who play them, Tim Rozon and Rachel Skarsten have actually worked together before appearing in this show. They played respectively the characters of Massimo/The Druid and Tamsin in Lost Girl.
  • Became a vampire as of If We Make It Through December.
  • Kate's friend Sally pretended to be her, when having her photo taken to appear in the papers. Sally, or Ma Sally was a woman Doc had been sweet on.
  • Doc built Alice a wooden crib, which he had made before knowing of Wynonna's decision for their daughter's safety.[2]
