Jay Novak is a minor character in Season 1 of Wynonna Earp. He is the Revenant August Hamilton's second on-screen victim.
Biography[]
At some point, Jay began working as a parole officer and married Suzie Novak.
For ten years leading up to the events of Wynonna Earp, Jay ran a large drug dealing operation using his job as a probation officer as cover. He took advantage of his juvenile probationers, blackmailing them into working for him. Among his "unpaid minions", as she termed it, was Wynonna Earp.
History[]
Season 1[]
In The Blade, two hours prior, Jay is visited by the Revenant August Hamilton, who gives him two hours to seek forgiveness from all those he has wronged. Failure to do so will result in Jay's death at Hamilton's hands. Jay first talks to Suzie, revealing the extent of his illicit drug operation and begging her forgiveness. It is unknown whether or not he is successful.
Perhaps realizing the futility of the task, Jay is first seen drinking alone at a table in Shorty's. Doc Holliday, seeking a free drink, joins him at the table. After some talk, Jay retreats to the bar's washroom and sees Hamilton in the mirror. His two hours having come up, Jay becomes frantic and hides in a stall in an attempt to protect himself from the Revenant. Hamilton merely unscrews the stall door's lock and slits Jay's throat, killing him.
Later, Jay's body is found in the washroom by Doc and then by Waverly Earp.
