Juan Carlo is a recurring character in Season 1 and Season 2 and a guest in Season 3 of Wynonna Earp.
Biography[]
The angel Juan Carlo was tasked with protecting the Garden of Eden, alongside an angel named Julian. Julian and Juan Carlo watched humanity flourish, get tempted, and fall - all at the hands of a snake. The snake was named Bulshar and his desire was to corrupt humanity. He was exiled from the garden soon after tempting Eve and Adam.
In 1887, Juan Carlo left the Garden when he and Julian discovered that Bulshar had returned to the Ghost River Triangle, where the entrance to the garden was concealed. Bulshar returned so he could reenter the Garden and finish what he started with the corruption of humanity. Juan Carlo disguised himself as a priest so he and Julian could remove the garden's security system, a flaming sword. The sword served as the key to the garden and without it, Bulshar couldn't enter the garden.
Julian and Juan Carlo sought a champion who could wield the sword and chose Wyatt Earp. They turned the sword into a more practical weapon for the times, a gun they called Peacemaker. Wyatt and the Earp line were cursed by Bulshar which forced every person Wyatt killed to return as Revenants. The weapon used to kill the revenants, Peacemaker, was forced to remain in the Earp family line as only an Earp could wield the weapon.
Juan Carlo and Julian were attempting to banish Bulshar during a celestial event called the "blood-eclipse" or "pledge-moon" which is visible about every 120 years. Juan Carlo worked alongside Constance Clootie and Robert Svane to seal Bulshar in the ground for the rest of eternity.
Since Wynonna Earp's reign as heir, Juan Carlo helped her to understand the Earp Curse as well as protecting her friends.
History[]
Season 1[]
In Landslide, he comes upon Doc as his pink sedan had issues. Doc aims his gun at him and asks him to show some manners for someone who has come to help him out. Doc asks him politely and mentions that in his anger, he threw the keys past a marker and as he walks out, Doc reveals he had "found" the keys. He later helps Doc with the car and asks the gunslinger to look in the toolbox for a 5H, revealing he had Doc's old deputy badge. He honks the horn at Doc, revealing he went into his truck and asks if he wants some hot chocolate. He tells the gunslinger his name and how he's asking all of the wrong questions. He tells him he can go away, face darkness, or help Wynonna as the winter solstice is upon the town in four days.
In I Walk the Line, he confronts Bobo as the revenant is walking to the treehouse and mentions Hell will be unleashed if he and Willa cross over the line, especially if an heir has hatred in their heart. Bobo tells him to stay out of the way and knows that he can't interfere. Later, as Wynonna is waiting for the Black Badge truck to cross over the county line, he appears in front of her and tells her that the Triangle is not just a prison, but a sanctuary for something. As she tells him she's the heir and has work to do, he says they'll be watching her and disappears as she turns back.
Season 2[]
In Let's Pretend We're Strangers,
In No Future in the Past, Juan was shot by Xavier Dolls in order to put him out of his misery after being eaten and poisoned by The Widows.
