Wynonna Earp Wiki

Sheriff Randy Nedley is a recurring character in Season 1, Season 2, Season 3 and Season 4 of Wynonna Earp. He is the former Chief of Police in Purgatory.

Biography[]

Randy Nedley is the Purgatory Town Sheriff. He is described as "A judgmental good ol’ boy who doubts his own authority at every turn and just wants to keep the peace with the least amount of effort required until his retirement."[1]

History[]

Season 1[]

In Purgatory, he is with Deputy Marshal Dolls while they investigate Kiersten Lesko's decapitated corpse. He asks Dolls how long he plans on being in town and what to tell the locals, with Dolls saying anything but the truth. He later comes upon Wynonna and asks why she came back since the people she loves have suffered enough. She says they probably have and walks away, flipping Randy off in the process. After Wynonna finds Gus injured and Waverly being taken, she goes to Shorty's and Randy asks if there's going to be trouble, but she says there will be if he doesn't move.

In Keep the Home Fires Burning, he argues with Dolls as they walk around the police station while also stating he never heard of the Black Badge Division. Randy is told he's on a need to know basis as Dolls walks into a room, telling the sheriff that his cream is expired in the fridge.

In Leavin' on Your Mind, he arrives at the surplus store with other officers as they received a call about shots being fired. As the revenants exit the store with Shorty, Champ and Wynonna, Randy has his gun ready to shoot. As the van leaves, Randy and Nicole are told to clear the scene around the store.

In The Blade, he tells Wynonna that she has a phone call while she is talking to Dolls about Doc.

In Two-Faced Jack, he tells Doc to stop hollering as the station is alerted on the disappearance of Wynonna and Nicole. As Dolls, Doc, Nedley and others exit the station, Nedley gives them options to how to go about the situation and later notifies them that Nicole is in the hospital. Before Dolls, Waverly and Doc go in Nicole's room to ask her some questions, Nedley says he'd rather ask a doctor before bombarding his officer with questions especially in her state, but Nicole allows them to come in.

In Bury Me With My Guns On, he talks to Nicole about her report of Jack and tells her to write up a new one as the one she did previously sounds too supernatural, unless she loses her badge. He later talks to Dolls and if he's going to drink his booze, they'll have to be on first name basis. He later reveals to Dolls that he knows about about the paranormal goings-on in town for good amount of time and asks if they could work together on it. They later go to Shorty's to talk and he later leaves him to socialize with others.

In House of Memories, he comes into Xavier's office and hands him a report, but the two keep quiet as it's later revealed to have involved Doc. He later attends the party at the Wainwright Hotel with his daughter and notices the drunken Champ insulting Waverly and Nicole. He tells him to back down and as Champ succumbs to the poison, he holds him down with Nicole.

In I Walk the Line, he tries to back Wynonna and the others as they are being encircled by poisoned townsfolk. Later, he appears with the townspeople nearby Shorty's as they corner Wynonna and Waverly. He tells that despite what has happened with Wynonna, she's their only shot and asks her if she'll help. After getting her to show she'll help, he has the townspeople to let the two go and he thanks her for letting him know that Chrissy is alive. He is later back at the Wainwright attending Chrissy as she is getting treatment.

In On the Road Again, Nedley was wounded while at the stairs to Eden and had to stay behind with Mercedes while Wynonna followed a lead.

In Look at Them Beans, his daughter Chrissy saw Wynonna at Shorty's and tried to have her hanged, with the help of the other Shorty's patrons around them, after proclaiming her as being in citizen's arrest for Nedley's murder. She revealed that Nedley hadn't been seen in the same amount of time (a year and half) as Wynonna and they were last seen together, making Wynonna the prime suspect for his believed death. Turns out, Nedley left Mercedes shortly after Wynonna left and ran into the woods where monsters had started to appear. Nedley was overtaken by parasitic puffball-like creatures and became an ogre-like monster himself, only to be freed, with no memories of the past 18 months, by Doc and Nicole when the former realized who he was. They took him back to Shorty's where he was reunited with his daughter.
